Updates! Updates!

The approximate wedding ceremony location
We had a great time last weekend, getting out around the bay to see the wedding venue for the first time in a few months. It was nice to have the time to take measurements, finalize logistical details and get a feel for the space. It is going to be awesome! There is a great atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and all the necessary amenities.

A few more updates/notes:

  • If you are renting a car, it is a good idea to do so before long. If you don't need a car while you are here, there will be plenty of rides going out to the venue from St. John's throughout the week (particularly on Wednesday and Thursday). If you need/want a ride, let us know so we can sort it out for you on this end.
  • Rooms are starting to book up, and while there are plenty in the area it is probably a good idea to book relatively early. If you are looking to share accommodation or you aren't certain which rentals are the best for you, just let us know. Many have done so already!
We have also had a couple of requests about how to access our wedding registries. Please note that there is absolutely no expectation of gift-giving, but we are thankful for the interest some guests have shown in doing so and hope the registry facilitates the process.

The registry at Home, which is a locally-owned boutique in St. John's, has to be accessed by phoning them directly. The number is (709) 738-8228, and I think you will find them very helpful. They will handle the whole process for you, from selection to delivery if you require.

Our registry at The Bay can be accessed by going to www.hbc.com, then clicking on "National Gift Registry" and searching either of our names (Chelsey MacNeil or Sam Paterson).

The RSVP's are coming in!

We're moving along with plans now, with several new developments. We will have the campsite details sorted out before long; details will be posted on this site. There are also lots of offers coming in from local friends of beds to crash in for the night and extra rooms/camping area available.

If you are planning on renting a car in St. John's, we would suggest doing so within the next couple of months. Car rentals go quickly in Newfoundland during tourist season, and we don't want to see anyone stuck. That being said, there will be a lot of vehicles coming out of St. John's in the week leading up to the wedding. We can also organize a pick-up at the Argentia ferry terminal for "walk-ons".

If you have any questions about accommodations/travel/anything, don't hesitate to email us at chelseymacneil@gmail.com or sam.paterson@gmail.com. Also, if you live in St. John's you can drop completed RSVP cards off at Model Citizens if you would rather.

March 28th Update

The remainder of the invites will be going out this week, so all guests can expect one soon if you haven't gotten it already! Places are already booking up quickly, so let us know if you need a hand finding a good place.
We will soon have final info on transportation for the night of the event, as well as the availability of camping (which will be ample, and close to the venue).

Places to Stay: Fisher's Loft Inn

Hi All,

Just wanted to highlight a really beautiful place to stay in Port Rexton, NL which is about 20 mins away from Elliston. We have included some information from the website below and a link to their website. If you would like to stay here, please email us at chelseymacneil@gmail.com and we can make sure you are booked in, as we have some rooms reserved for the wedding.

Fishers Loft

Fishers’ Loft is in Port Rexton, one of 12 picturesque fishing outports dotted along the rugged coastline between New Bonaventure and English Harbour on Trinity Bay — the Trinity Bight.

Fishers' Loft Inn is on the internationally renowned Skerwink Trail, a 5.3 km coastal, woodland trail (named by Travel & Leisure Magazine among the top 10 hiking trails in Canada).

From the Loft, you look across the vast and ever-changing reaches of Trinity Bay. Closer to home and rising from the approaches to Ship Cove is Fox Island, once a fortification. Icebergs and whales, eagles and osprey are often seen from our shores.

Check out rates and reservation details at Fisher's Loft website below:
